REVIEWING CD'S -- SODA SHOP

1. There is no control of what I review, in the radio station, or in life, the latter, life, takes opening up to sometimes, like reviewing the CD's we get in the radio station, we open our shelves to whatever anyone sends, meaning we're fickle, like life, so here is REVIEWING MUSIC with Soda Shop's self titled album- released 2015  by Velvet Blue Music-

The LP spanning eight tracks starts up and demands concentration, its pop tone with drive, vocals delivered with presence though I can never catch up to hear the actual lyrics (I could hear some of the later songs pretty clearly), allows the listener to format the voyage with guitar and bass attacks sounding like melodic, and subdued, and filling and warm respectively. By the time a reggae timing fourth song-Longing- comes on, I credit the band with formulating the album to keep things from getting redundant- there is even a voice track at the beginning of the fifth song (Melancholia) that nods this to me, to try and avoid redundancy ( wink) , there is a foreign instrument filling the melody break.

Fools Paradise starts off with a heavy bass shuffle, and drives some crystal clear lyricism, combining some elements that seems to touch on a poplular theme delivered by a different song " everything must change" though this theme is contextualized with a personal moody minor, contrasted to the major chorus of the latter mentioned song.  Song 7 Keep Swimming seems to respond in title and tempo to the previous song once again showing the thoughtfulness that if the listener has to deal with moody change, we, will get a pick up if we "keep on swimming" as pops the last line of the song.

And the end
Grow Up- the last song; never mind the review ends after this; this is how the album resolves it self- by taking some pressure of the top hat pedal, challenging  between setting the album on fire, becoming something different , and being left just the way we were.

Dream Stream

 The picture above d o e s n ' t  e v e n     c o v e r    T e l e g' s  m a d n e s s

Not even close,  a night at the couples home behind transposing stars charts into morse code for lyrics, planetary note compositions, and inventive instruments taking, restraints off contemporary man, allowing the human to do what wasn't possible before, oh yeah and it's music.

"I thought Art was supposed to be fun! I thought Art was supposed to be easy!"

Kinda mantra I used to laugh about before...

Well, Teleg blew this bloggers mind; when opening for a concert earlier this year, although Teleg has been EINSTEIN GENIUS FUNDAMENTALLY IMPORTANT FOR CREATIVITY, since I first heard about it sometime around it's early conception.

There is something about delaying the pleasure of creation until it's been damn made sure it was entirely thoughtful, but the trans formative of the creative process has melted this couple into arch-type music conduits, that leaves people utterly baffled is the up shoot, it's a narrative told  through toys and cheap instruments, it's the lyrics made up entirely of morse code, and now it's the newest album in the works that even makes it more difficult for us to catch the beatless meatless hooks of the stars, and the god of sound threatening to take silence the world unless T E L E G, can appease him with their new experimental album in the works.

Or will human kind get in the way?

The experimental noise/(nothing like it) group has certain hooks in them already to travel and perform later this month, what was a plan to jam with a improvisational group later this month, has instead attracted a great radio spot (details to come)  to be present, and these dynamic duo may have to postpone looking at stars to interrupt, to heavily practice in anticipation of a possible live recording, will Logogool (god of sound) punish us for T E L E G's distraction?? Will Silence reign a thousand years! Check THEM out if your into experimental sound, noise projects, or if your sick of comparably less creative music, pop music.

Bone dry

holidays! what purpose does one tag with weekends and holidays? It seems that holidays are for emotional accomplishments, holidays for this one, are unique opportunities to process how the adult family tree learned about arch-type themes, for example,

" mom, how did your mother and father show love for you? " " aunt how did your brother and sisters show conflict with you"? Or the holiday overtime is too good to miss out on, and the family probing can wait. Either way it is helpful to remind ourselves that we act and will act or have acted based on the information available at the time! Any new information gained since then can now be used to make different decisions. So if you put time investing in ones emotional intelligence, it is fair to assume, that when trigger X stimulates, that we could have other options to which to respond with.

isolate and destroy--

Cancer buffet line
Seasoned beef anxious eaters
buried glass tip jars 5/7/5

Weightless alarm clocks
imponderable space colors
thicket picket lines 5/7/5

here  a well timed review-
Song one Shame- lyrically sets a tone to this album- and It has the hard rock, so I know I am half way in right away-

Song two, Starve, speaks to me lyrically still, and still more hard rock, although I get to connecting with the man's vocal style

Song three is soo good lyrically for this time and place of the blogger. All I Want I would paste the lyrics, but when pasted the blog looks a little cluttered , tell this blogger it's just something like confirmation bias, this blogger says it's just luck-two simple lines - "please don't ignore me" "Please don't destroy me"

Song number four End Of Something, now this song is starting to confirm that this album is centered around relationships, song number five,  On My Way To The Cage, so the hard rock is polish, and the cadence to vocalist's performance really sticks this album in my head as caustic rummage through battlegrounds of evolving pains.
Song six,  Thursday Afternoon, starts strong, has a beautiful instrumental section, and continues to flesh out the relativity to the lyrical content  of the articulations of the character in the album.
SO IS THIS ROLLINS OR A GENERALIZED CRITIQUE OF MALE PSYCHE?????
Song number seven During a City, shifts focus , mellows out to a jazzy bass, kicks out a punk chorus, but mostly the spoken words seem to be the focus of the artist beat, because the music is standard in composition showing no special thought, verse, chorus, verse, song, song, song, so this album goes.
Song number eight,  Neon, goes without much special thought, though song number nine, spilling over the Side, really hits home lyrically, loving this album because it sounds like the hard rock tones of  Clutch, heavy rock gods from D.C,  Inhale Exhale, song ten, starts off like a Clutch tune. Kinda surprised this album hasn't sworn or been lewd, Look at that album cover! Reviewing this album for the station- soooo it was on the top of the stack-
Song number eleven, saying goodbye again, has lack luster quality- song twelve has a great title ,  Rejection, killer opening riff, and makes the theme it started completed, great chorus, fav- song

Rising dead

so  woke up in a different place and didn't know where this blogger was at first, space unfamiliarity of course,it was awesome easiest time a blogger had waking up and rising from the dead- and by the way, went there again the next night Josh's house and besides being a little crazier and partying context wise, mlearned a little bit more about Josh and his friends and what it means to be my neighbors neighbor and that's okay really. space and time reveal all the little pleasantries that one goès through to just be ok.
